Les Figolettes come from passion and transmission. A passion not so reasonable for earrings, of course!
It all began with my Grand-Mamy, my sweet great grand mother. She taught me with patience the love for creative crafts. Then M’y, my dearest grand mother, nurrished this love with all her dedication.
When Maïssam and Nawel were old enough, it was my turn to initiate them to creative crafts, and it finally turned into Les Figolettes when we discovered that we could create beautiful, colorful and ultra light earrings out of shrink plastic.
A few years later, Maïssam, my oldest, is my most precious counseler. She knows in a eye blink what colours best associate together and is so patient and supportive when I need advice. If Nawel, my second, was still alive, she would love the models that I create in her memory. They are easy to recognize: they are mostly pink, very bright, and make you feel like having an ice cream on the beach.
“Les Figolettes”, this is how I called Maïssam and Nawel when they were little. It’s an home-made derivative from “Les filles” (“the girls / daughters”) in French.
I created Les Figolettes in 2019. Since then, I carve, paint and varnish shrink plastic sheets to create unique pairs of colourfull and ultra light earrings. I hope that you will like them!
